In Our Lives |
Anyone who was fortunate enough to hear Julia read her own work will forever read her words with her voice and intonation echoing in their head.
But her words survive, not only on the page, but also in the performances of others. Her plays can still be produced, her songs can still be sung, and when they are, this page will tell you about it.
Those who were at the Cumberland in May 2004 for Sudden Blossoms will know how well Julia and Tim Dalling worked together. That collaboration was taken a step further, with the release of Rendezvous, a CD that intersperses six of Julia's poems, read by her, with Tim's settings of eleven of Julia's poems. In accord with Julia's enthusiasm for knitting, the initial run of 200 came in a hand-knitted CD cover. The CD is currently temporarily out of stock, but Tim Dalling's website also includes a full track list and audio clips, including Julia reading How to Make a Curative Soup.
Meanwhile, the In Retrospect page lists reports of earlier events featuring Julia and her work.
