Emma Holliday and Julia's friends launched the First Aid Kit for the Mind on Thursday 14th April. The Biscuit Factory was packed with Julia's friends and three generations of Julia's family. Both Charlie Hardwick and Julia's daughter Florrie spoke and read Julia's poems.
Like all first aid kits, this one comes in a box. But this one has a poem by Julia embossed on the lid, and contains postcards with new poems by Julia and paintings by Emma, plus lots of goodies: each box is different, but all contain:
The boxes cost £30 each plus £2 carriage if appropriate: there's more information about them on Emma Holliday's website.
The poems and paintings were blown up to A3 size to form part of an accompanying exhibition. These framed and signed prints were for sale, along with posters. The intention is that the money from these sales will be used to fund another set of prints which will be available for exhibition at local hospitals.
